The five-slot formula

Every reliable commercial prompt fills five slots: the product, its material, the environment it sits in, the lighting setup and the camera. Miss one and the model improvises — usually with plastic-looking surfaces or muddy shadows.

Prompt

Frosted glass serum bottle with brushed gold cap on a wet travertine plinth, soft studio softbox from the top-left, gentle gradient backdrop in warm sand, water droplets, 100mm macro lens, f/8, crisp product reflections, luxury skincare campaign

Fragrance needs atmosphere, not props

Perfume shots sell a feeling. Replace clutter with haze, light shafts and a single strong colour so the bottle stays the hero.

Prompt

Sculptural perfume bottle centred in a warm haze, single hard light shaft from the right creating a long shadow, terracotta seamless backdrop, floating dust particles, 85mm lens, f/5.6, editorial fragrance campaign, no text

Packaging shots live or die on the edges

Ask explicitly for clean die-cut edges, accurate embossing and a controlled reflection line — that's what makes a mockup look printed rather than rendered.

Prompt

Matte cosmetic carton with subtle embossed logo, crisp die-cut edges, controlled specular reflection line along one corner, charcoal acrylic surface, two-light setup with a large softbox and a narrow strip fill, 90mm tilt-shift lens, catalogue-grade product photograph
